Review: CATISS Cat Lip Balms and Hand Cream

A couple of months ago, I started seeing CATISS lip balms popping up on my Instagram feed. As a cat worshipper, er, lover, to say I was intrigued would be an understatement. Cat paw-shaped lip balms, complete with squishy toe beans?! I needed one. (I think we can all agree that toe beans are one of the most precious kitty parts, but alas, Chababa only lets me touch hers once or twice a year.)

So, I was nothing short of thrilled when the brand reached out and offered to send me a selection of products to try. 🤩

In all honesty, I knew I would enjoy stuffing my pockets with paw-shaped lip balms even before they arrived, but I didn’t expect to love the actual products this much!

Here are my thoughts [*all products gifted by the brand].

🐾 Cat Lip Balm – Original Pure Hydration
(Tuxedo, Grey, White, and Black Cats)

The first one I reached for was the Grey Cat Lip Balm, simply because it was closest to Chab’s coloring (although she does not have socks, and is more of a beige/brown tabby).

The beeswax-based formula contains patented hyaluronic filling spheres for extrra hydration, and does a really good job of moisturizing my lips. I keep one in my purse, and another at my desk. I like that it’s not too slippery on the lips, and not too dry either—the texture is just right. I don’t struggle with dry lips as much in summer, so the true test will be once it starts getting colder later this fall and during the winter, when we crank up the heating and the air gets super dry indoors.

🐾 Cat Lip Balm – Orange Honey Awakening
(Tinted – Ginger Cat)

I hadn’t really found a tinted lip balm I liked enough to wear consistently until now, and I was so surprised at how much I liked this one. I posted a Reel about it a few weeks ago, if you’d like to see how it looks on. With all the mask wearing we’ve been doing lately, I still haven’t really gone back to traditional lipstick, but I like that his balm gives my lips a flush of color that doesn’t get my mask all messy when put it back on.

The lip balms can seem pricey, but they feel well made. They have a magnetic cap that makes them feel elevated, are refillable (the refills are half the price, and this way you can mix and match whichever formula and case you like!), and as I mentioned previously, the toe beans are squishy!

$23.95 U.S. each ($11.95 U.S. for refills)

🌸 White Jasmine Moisturizing Hand and Nail Cream

I’m the type of person who wants to use hand cream often (and I should! My hands are a mess in winter), but in reality, I find that most hand creams leave my hands too greasy to go about my day immediately after applying. This means I often just skip hand cream altogether. Once in a blue moon, I’ll apply hand cream before bed.

I’m happy to report that the White Jasmine Moisturizing Hand and Nail Cream is light enough and absorbed quickly enough for me to use it almost every day while I work. Its scent is fresh and quite subtle: it doesn’t linger like many other creams I’ve tried. Its formula, which contains hydrolyzed wheat proteins, is super nourishing despite not being too thick. I also like to apply it before pushing my cuticles on my weekly edit-while-doing-your-nails day.

Needless to say the packaging is another win, here. The illustration of the cat grooming its paw is the cutest, and the cap has squishy toe beans just like the lip balms. If you’re a fidgeter, you’ll love playing with them.

🐱 Serenity Blue Cat Chamomile Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Soothing Mask

This sheet mask is sold in a box of six, but the brand kindly sent me one to try along with the rest of the cat products. It had been months since I had used a sheet mask, and this one reminded me how nice they can be.

Fit can be hit or miss for me, but this one did a good job of covering (almost) my entire forehead, and was dripping in essence. I cut little slits into the eye holes near my nose so that the mask sat better on my face. It felt nice and soothing upon application, and I was able to leave it on for 30 minutes while my skin soaked everything up. My face felt very hydrated afterward, likely because of the hyaluronic acid in the formula. It also contains chamomile, ceramides, and vitamin B5 among other ingredients.

The experience was very enjoyable: so much so, that I’ve started using sheet masks regularly again ever since.

$14.95 U.S. for a box of 6

All in all, the CATISS products I tried were all wins for me! It’s too bad the CATISS U.S. website only ships to the U.S. for now. But Canadians can get their cat product fix through Glowie Co, which sells the lip balms and hand cream and does ship to Canada and internationally.

You can also follow the brand on Facebook and Instagram for plenty of cute cat content!
