Getting Glowing: My Pre-SPF Morning Routine

These days, my skin has been particularly glowy, so I thought I’d share my current a.m. routine. Of course, I always top things off with sunscreen if I’m heading out during the day (as opposed to working here at home, with my back to the window 😑).

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum
This is the current vitamin C serum I am using (I always make sure to include one in my morning routine). It is very spreadable, and smells like orange juice! I like that it also contains collagen, green tea extract, and aloe juice.

Bellflower Idebenone Brightening Serum
I just started using this one about a week or so ago. It contains idebenone, niacinamide, vitamin C, and propolis extract, among others. I usually use either the Truth Serum or this one, but sometimes I like to double up and use both. I really like how quickly it absorbs into my skin!

Shiseido
Bio-Performance Glow Revival Cream: I found this moisturizer in my PR stash, and started using it a few weeks ago. (What can I say? The word “glow” attracts me like a moth to a flame 🔥) It has a gorgeous gel-cream texture, which leaves my skin nice and moisturized, with a beautiful glow.

Vivier Peptide CR Eye Crème
This is a new addition to my routine. It’s supposed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles. Looking forward to see if I notice any changes in my dark circles!

JB Skin Guru L’extrait Peoni
I did a whole separate post about this oil last week. Currently, I mix 3 or 4 drops into my Shiseido moisturizer, and my skin LOVES the combination.

Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer
I received this months ago, but waited to start using it until I finished my gigantic 500 ml Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion, which lasted me over a year. There’s been so much buzz about this Laneige product online, and people seem to really be enjoying it, so I couldn’t wait to finally try it for myself. I was surprised at how fluid it is: I guess I was expecting more of a hybrid toner / moisturizer texture. But after using it a few times, I got hooked on how it quenches my skin right after my cleansing step. Several weeks in, and it’s still one of my favourite skincare steps both in the morning and evening.

Mine are to continue finishing the majority of my products, and to try to sheet mask more often (I really didn’t use very many in 2019!).

Note: these products are PR samples provided by brands. As always, opinions are my own.
