Under-Eye Helpers: 4 Patches to Try

I’m a BIG fan of under-eye masks because they’re quick to apply and less of a time commitment than full sheet masks. I also find their immediate results quite satisfying!

Some faves I turn to regularly when I need an extra hit of moisture, or when I wake up looking puffy:

VIIcode O2M Oxygen Eye Mask for All Night Repair
When the brand reached out about trying these eye masks, I was intrigued by the claim that you could wear them to bed. Admittedly, this is something I still haven’t done, but I plan to try it soon. I have, however, tried the masks during the day time, leaving them on for an hour or two while I work. I really like that they are just sticky enough to stay put while I do other things, but not too sticky that they pull on the delicate skin around my eyes (which has been the case with other similar eye patches). The patches contain sodium hyaluronate and vitamin E, as well as other ingredients that are supposed to boost moisture and soothe the skin. The patches have a gel consistency, with a soft fabric feel on the outside. They offer a cooling effect which is less intense than hydrogel patches, and I did notice that my under eye area was more moisturized and my fine lines were a little less apparent after using them!

Karine Joncas Dermo-Lift Corrective Eye Patches
These are the under eye patches I’ve been using the longest—even before I discovered my beloved hydrogels and got really into Asian beauty. They have gel on one side and soft fabric on the outside, and contain phyto-collagen concentrate, vitamin E, and witch hazel. They claim to decrease puffiness and dark circles, with an instant smoothing effect. I leave them on for 15 minutes (which is the recommended time), and I find that they help moisturize and decrease puffiness. I also like that they’re sold in pairs, which is a great way to try eye patches for the first time. I like to keep one or two packets in my travel bag.

JAYJUN Roselle Tea Eye Patches
These hydrogel eye patches are one of my favourite eye products, and I use them whenever I have a special event to go to, or wake up looking extra puffy. I keep them in my mini skincare fridge, which boosts their cooling effect. They are super soothing and moisturizing thanks to hibiscus flower extract, and offer a light brightening effect, too. They are pink (!) and on the larger side, which feels nice and cool on the face. And what can I say about the packaging? They’re a joy to reach for every time. I’ll definitely be repurchasing these when I run out!

CLEAR TURN Skin Plumping Eye Zone Mask
I picked these up in Japan a while ago, but only started using them recently. They’re meant to target fine wrinkles, and can be used under your eyes or around your mouth. I don’t have any lines around my mouth, so I use them as eye patches. They are made of 100% cotton, and feel like mini sheet masks. They have quite a bit of essence, and I like that when you open the pack, they’re individually folded in half, which eliminates the hassle of trying to grab just the top sheet when they’re all stacked one on top of the other. The essence contains a retinyl palmitate, collagen, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin, among others—all ingredients I am partial to! I like to throw these on for some extra moisture when I feel like my skin needs it, but doesn’t necessarily need the cooling / de-puffing effect some of the other patches offer. These help with the fine lines under my eyes.
