Styling Secret: NIUCOCO’s Dynamic Great Hair Trio

I have weird hair: it’s curly and dry, but it’s also fine. This means that using products traditionally formulated for curly or dry hair can easily weigh my locks down, sucking the volume out of them. It’s been a struggle for me to find styling products that help me smooth out my tresses and fight frizz without being too heavy.

It actually took me a long time to understand my hair type. Although each strand of hair is fine, I do have a lot of it (maybe this is a sign I’m actually somewhat Asian after all?!). I usually give priority to products that fight frizz rather than add volume. I’ve also become more and more interested in natural cosmetics.

So I was keen to try NIUCOCO’s Dynamic Great Hair Trio, which consists of a Hydrating Shampoo, Smoothing Conditioner, and Renewing Hair Serum which are all formulated with cold-pressed coconut oil. What’s so great about coconut oil? It’s been gaining a lot of traction in the beauty industry lately, with people using it for everything from removing makeup, to cooking. When you apply it to your hair, it’s very moisturizing, and it helps to strengthen your strands, and help add shine.

Although I loved the shampoo and conditioner, I am NEVER letting go of the Renewing Hair Serum. Even if you know me well, chances are you haven’t seen me wear my hair curly very often (unless we’ve been somewhere hot and humid together, like Saint Lucia or Dominican Republic—sometimes, a hair dryer and straightening iron are simply a waste of time). The reason for this is that I don’t like to wash my hair more than once or twice a week, but if I leave it curly, I end up having to brush out the styling product I’ve used to keep my mane frizz-free, which in turn makes my hair turn greasy faster than I’d like. But not with NIUCOCO’s hair serum! It’s so lightweight that it keeps my curls smooth and bouncy, and on the second and third days after washing, I can simply brush them out into romantic waves.
