Minoue’s Skincare Drawer: 3 Eye Care Allies

As the years have gone by, eye cream has taken on a growingly important role in my skincare routine. ? So I thought I’d share three that I’m currently using and enjoying. But be warned: good eye treatments often don’t come cheap!

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix

Did you know that Advanced Night Repair is Canada’s #1 serum? So it’s no wonder that this new addition to the line is, well, a wonder. I actually noticed fewer fine lines under my eyes after starting to use the new Eye Concentrate Matrix a few weeks ago. Not all reviews have been unanimous regarding the applicator, but I personally really like it: I feel it helps me dab the product on right where it needs to go before massaging it in a little with my fingers.

LIERAC Premium Yeux Eye Cream

I discovered this little gem while researching an article for Clin d’oeil magazine, and was seduced by the fact that it boosts the hyaluronic acid concentration in your skin on three different levels—which basically means that it’s super hydrating, and helps plump your skin back up. I am addicted to its balm-like texture, and its applicator dispenses just the right amount of product (about the size of a pea). Note: eye creams aren’t meant to be applied too close to the water line (you should always be able to feel bone under your fingers). If I’m not careful with this one, my eyes can get a little puffy. But when applied correctly, it’s amazing!

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Eye Serum

These single-dose golden eye serum capsules are incredibly pretty, but also incredibly potent. You simply twist the end open and the product comes out. I like its light texture, and the fact that you can take just as many capsules as you need along with you when travelling. The capsules are 100% biodegradable (in case you were wondering), and they instantly help brighten up the eye area thanks to a mix of ingredients which include vitamin A, and a personal favourite, tsubaki oil. I find that there is a little too much product for my eye area per capsule, but I usually spread it on my cuticles and hands so it doesn’t go to waste.

$77 for 60 capsules at Elizabeth Arden counters.

Do you use eye cream? Which is your current favourite?
