Quick Review: Shiseido Essential Energy Moisturizing Cream

I received the new Shiseido Essential Energy Moisturizing Cream several months ago, but only got around to using it regularly a few weeks ago. Here’s why it became my new favourite, in five quick bullet points!

The cream is meant for women in their 30s (that’s me!), and contains a special technology called ReNeura, which is supposed to make your skin more responsive to skin care. It also contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid and citrus peel extract for moisture, and pearl and tea extract to help your skin glow.

It quickly became a favourite because of its decadent yet lightweight texture. I have normal skin, and thought I would prefer something lighter than a cream for summer, but this one absorbs quickly into my skin and provides it with just the right level of hydration. [Go to my Instagram post and SWIPE for a texture demo.] It immediately gives me that coveted glow!

The jar is also beautiful: it is supposed to evoke a Japanese tea cup, and comes in 64 slightly different versions.

My favourite part is the scent! It’s supposed to be a blend of rose and jasmine, with fruity notes like pear and ume (plum). But to me, it smells like raspberry yogurt, and that’s also kind of what it feels like on my face.

I had also received the Essential Energy Day Cream (with SPF 20), and the Essential Energy Moisturizing Gel Cream, the latter of which Blondie loooved and finished.

Tell me: which moisturizer are you currently getting the most use out of?

Note: I received a free sample of this product, but as always, opinions are my own.
